Over the past several years, a diverse crowd of holidaymakers has been constantly visiting Mykonos and Scorpios Beach Club. Mykonos is turning gradually the island into a paradise for the world’s wealthy and famous, hard-partying vacationers, dance-music junkies, and cruise-shippers peeking in for a glance. For this crowd, Mykonos is the king of the chummy beach club parties, as just about every beach on the island’s southern side has a DJ, playing some chill beats. However, the lively spirit of the island of Mykonos is definitely concentrated around the famous bohemian cultural Scorpios Beach Club, that offers genuinely the real treat of great nightlife on holiday.
Nested in a sun-drenched southern tip of Mykonos, overlooking Paraga bay and Kavos, a weatherworn house has been transformed into a modern-day Agora. Part ceremonial, part intellectual celebration, Scorpios is taking the mystical charge of nighttime rituals into daytime and slowing it down a pace or two. Scorpios Mykonos has a bohemian-luxe visual identity, with relaxed design themes and a style perfectly suited for passing leisurely days and evenings and is the hippest place to visit and be seen whilst on the island of Mykonos. It’s the new movement in holistic beach hanging, a cultural multi-space that is part market, restaurant, art gallery and music venue. The place is run by Thomas and Mario, two Germans who met through the electronic music scene, back in the 1990s and spent a decade in Mykonos turning Paradise club into one of the most popular clubs.
The rustic-chic restaurant of Scorpios Beach Club, at the center of the house, comfortably seats 200, spilling onto an outside Terrace overlooking the sea, the ideal place to gather under a shady canopy, where long, leisurely meals can stretch into the afternoon or evening.
The impressive menu is primarily Mediterranean with an emphasis on vegetarian and health foods, and is curated by the famous Executive Chef Athinagoras Kostakos, orchestrating with envious precision a huge brigand of forty people in his kitchen, serving on a daily basis at least a thousand people, keeping the high standards of fine dining.
The bar staff has a good knowledge about their bottle-shelves, and in case you get confused what to drink, they will be happy to give you a hand, and you can rely on their recommendation. The daytime ambience that reminisces a good friend’ s living room, gives way to a more festive energy, as the sun goes down, and the place is transforming when the Sunset Music Rituals take the center stage.
The sunset party begins around 5:30pm, though movers and shakers start queuing up at least by 5:00pm, as the demand for these parties is always high. With top international DJs playing their downtempo medleys, as well as deep ethnic sounds and world folklore, the live gigs and the amazing sunset views over the Aegean Sea, the partygoers go until midnight, in an epic sunset party!
Sundays are the latest culmination of a Scorpios institution, bringing the island together for an ethno-electro feast that fully activates the dance floor, with the Australian DJ and producer Kaz James who held a residency at Pacha Ibiza, for over a decade and has always been in it for the love of house music. Dating back all the way to the origins of Scorpios, this breezy sunset-colored series captures the jovial spirit of Mykonos and feeds on its fluent high-voltage energies.
People can either sit on the cushioned steps of the Terrace or at the large cushions laid around a large fire right on the sandy Sunset beach.
Scorpio’s parties are legendary, and in one visit you’ll find out why!
Guests of Scorpios are highly encouraged to make reservations well in advance, as the demand is extremely high, especially on Sundays. Reservations can be made for Scorpios Sunset Area, Scorpios Beach & Sunbeds, Scorpios Restaurant for lunch or dinner and Scorpios VIP Party area.
The space is also well known as an art and culture hub in Mykonos, where guests are able to buy Caravana garments, an organic brand that aims to preserve the ancient traditions of handicraft, as well as handmade jewelry and accessories, designed by M. Cohen and VK Lillie, preferred by worldwide celebrities including Johnny Depp, Gerard Butler, Chris Hemsworth, Jared Leto, Mark Wahlberg and Robert Downey Jr.
Scorpios has also its own helipad to help the extravagant to make a spectacular appearance and entry into the club, as well as a pier for small boats that offers a simple solution for customers that need a transfer to their yacht.
