Valid for yacht charters from 1 November 2026 to 31 October 2027 · Last updated: 29 October 2026
These terms apply to day charters and multi-day charters booked through Mykonos Luxury (Luxury International Ltd). We arrange your charter on behalf of the yacht owner. Your quote and the official charter agreement show the yacht, dates, price and what is included.
1. Booking and the charter agreement
- Your booking is confirmed when you have paid the down payment and received our written confirmation.
- Greek law requires an official charter agreement for every charter, registered electronically with the Greek authorities before departure. It includes a passenger list.
- Please send us, for every guest: full name, sex, nationality, date of birth and passport or ID number. We need them at least 48 hours before a day charter and 7 days before a multi-day charter.
- Changes to the guest list must be sent to us before embarkation. The number of guests can never exceed the limit on the yacht’s licence.
- If the Port Authority does not allow departure because guest details are missing or wrong, the cancellation terms in Section 8 apply.
2. Prices and VAT
- Charter prices are per day or per week, in euros, as shown in your quote.
- VAT is added at the rate set by Greek law on the charter date. Today this is 24% for charters of 48 hours or less and 12% for longer charters that qualify for the reduced rate. If the law changes, the new rate applies.
- Fuel, food, drinks, marina fees and other running costs are included only where your quote says so. For multi-day charters they are normally paid from the APA (Section 4).
3. Payment
- 50% of the charter fee is paid at booking.
- The remaining 50%, plus VAT and the APA (for multi-day charters), is due 4 weeks before embarkation.
- If you book less than 4 weeks before embarkation, the full amount is paid at booking.
- All payments are made by bank transfer or card. Greek law does not allow cash payments of €500 or more from customers to businesses, so we cannot accept them.
- Every payment is confirmed in writing, and you receive an official invoice.
4. APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance)
The APA applies to multi-day charters and to day charters outside the Mykonos area.
- The APA is usually 25–30% of the charter fee, depending on the yacht, number of guests and itinerary. It is paid with the balance, by bank transfer or card.
- It covers the running costs of your charter: fuel for the yacht, tender and motorised water toys, food and drinks, port and marina fees, communications and similar costs.
- The yacht is delivered with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank. The fuel used is paid from the APA.
- Your captain keeps an account with receipts. You can ask for a summary at any time, and you receive the full account at the end of the charter.
- If costs are higher than the APA, the captain will tell you and ask for a top-up by card or transfer before the costs are incurred.
- Any unused APA is refunded in full within 14 days of disembarkation. Bank charges for the refund, if any, are paid from the APA.
5. Itinerary and cruising
- We plan the itinerary with you before the charter and share it with the captain. Tell us early about any islands you want to visit, so we can check what fits the days and distances.
- On multi-day charters we usually cruise during the day and moor in ports or bays in the evening, so you can visit villages and restaurants.
- The captain may change the route at any time for safety, weather or Port Authority instructions. If you ask to change the route during the charter, the captain will tell you about any extra fuel cost first.
6. Provisions
Before the charter we send you a provisions list. The crew buys what you choose and stows it on board. Provisions are paid from the APA, or by card or transfer against the receipts if there is no APA.
7. Water toys and safety on board
- Guests must follow the captain’s and crew’s safety instructions at all times. The captain is responsible for the safety of the yacht and everyone on board, and his decisions on safety are final.
- Water toys may be used only when the captain decides it is safe, considering marine traffic, wind, waves, swimmers nearby, shallow water and currents.
- No water toys after drinking alcohol.
- Jet skis and fast boats may be driven only by guests holding the licence required by Greek law. Without it, the crew will drive or the toy cannot be used.
- Children must wear life jackets on deck when the crew asks, and be supervised by an adult at all times.
- Illegal substances are not allowed on board. The captain may end the charter without refund if this rule is broken.
- Guests are responsible for damage they cause to the yacht or its equipment beyond normal use.
8. Cancellation by you
| When you cancel | Refund |
|---|---|
| 60 days or more before the charter date | Full refund, minus a €250 administration fee |
| 59 days or less before the charter date | No refund |
| No-show, or you decide not to embark | No refund |
- Within 59 days, we will try to move your charter to another date if the yacht’s calendar allows. We cannot guarantee a new date, but we will make a genuine effort.
- To cancel, email info@mykonos.luxury with your booking reference. The cancellation counts from the day we receive it (Greek time).
- Refunds go back to the card or account you paid with within 14 days.
- We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation.
9. Weather and Port Authority bans
- If the weather makes it unsafe to sail (for example winds above 8 Beaufort, storms or lightning), or the Port Authority bans departures, the captain will reschedule your charter at no extra cost.
- The captain decides whether conditions are safe. Rain alone is not a reason to cancel or reschedule.
- If no new date within the season suits you, we give you a full refund of the charter fee.
- On multi-day charters, the captain may change the route or shelter in port to avoid bad weather. This is not a reason for a refund.
10. Official travel bans
If the Greek authorities ban travel to Greece or to Mykonos on your charter date, you can move your charter to another date in the season, or receive a full refund minus the €250 administration fee.
11. If we have to cancel
If the yacht cannot sail because of a breakdown or another problem on our side, we offer a similar yacht at no extra cost or a full refund of the charter fee, as you prefer.
12. Insurance and responsibility
- Every yacht we offer carries the insurance required by Greek law for professional charter yachts.
- We and the yacht owner are responsible for loss or injury caused by our fault or by a defect of the yacht. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any right you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law.
- We are not responsible for valuables left unattended, or for indirect costs such as missed flights, unless caused by our fault.
13. Complaints and governing law
- If something is wrong during the charter, tell the captain or call us straight away so we can fix it.
- Complaints after the charter: email info@mykonos.luxury. We reply within 5 working days.
- If we cannot agree, you can contact the Greek Consumer Ombudsman (www.synigoroskatanaloti.gr) or the European Consumer Centre in your country.
- These terms are governed by Greek law. This does not remove any mandatory consumer protection you have in the country where you live.
- For anything not covered here, our general terms apply.
